The cheapest way to find out whether your VNA calibration is telling the truth. Many of the loads supplied with lower-cost VNAs are not good quality, yet the VNA is configured to assume the load is perfect. This SMA male load has been individually measured on a calibrated VNA to 8.5 GHz, and the data is on the supplied USB stick as a Touchstone .s1p file.
Three ways to use it
Verify. Calibrate as normal, then measure this load and compare the result with the supplied .s1p file. If they agree, your calibration kit and VNA are measuring return loss accurately.
Calibrate. Above a few hundred MHz it is likely to be significantly better than the load supplied with a NanoVNA. Use it as your Load standard.
Define. In software that supports data-based standards, such as NanoVNA-QT or LibreVNA-GUI, load the .s1p as the definition of your Load for the most accurate result.
